Why snowmobile Comfort Inn Barrie Ontario for your snowmobile tour or snowmobile vacation? Ontario’s lake effect snowbelt starts just north of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) . When the white stuff comes, it provides hundreds of kilometres of exceptional trail riding.

This makes the City of Barrie a reliable starting point for great day rides. Barrie is a beautiful city which has lots to offer residents and tourists. And it’s only an hour’s trailer drive up Highway 400. Meanwhile, if you’re interested in other Ontario destinations, check out the rest of my Ontario ride articles.

Comfort Inn Barrie Ontario Staging

If you want to stay overnight to make it a weekend of day riding out of Barrie, try the Comfort Inn on Hart Drive. It’s only 10 minutes from the area’s handiest staging location at the Sno Voyageurs Snowmobile Club clubhouse. To my knowledge there’s no direct trail access to any Barrie hotel. So this Comfort Inn is your best bet as a base hotel for your snowmobiling adventures.

For snowmobilers, this newly renovated hotel has ample trailer parking. It offers ground floor room access, fridges and microwaves in every room. Plus free Wi-Fi, and a free hot breakfast to get you stated. It’s located at the Dunlop Street East exit off the 400 in Barrie right beside the Ski-Doo dealer, St. Onge Recreation. You can see both of these properties easily from the highway as you approach the Dunlop exit.

By using the Comfort Inn on Hart Drive for your overnighting, you can avoid saddle bagging. What’s more you always have a secure, reliable and convenient base to return to after each day’s sledding.

Comfort Inn Barrie Ontario Trail Access

When you’re ready to go snowmobiling each morning, simply get back on the 400 at Dunlop and drive north one exit to Bayfield Street West. Follow it until you come to the stoplights at Snow Valley Road. Then hang a left. Shortly, you’ll see where the snowmobile trail crosses the road and about ½ a kilometre later, the Sno Voyageurs clubhouse is on your left.

It has two driveways and plenty of parking. Plus the usually open on weekends clubhouse is a warm place to change that also provides indoor bathrooms. The trail leaves directly from the clubhouse parking lot, and from there you can day ride several long or short loops. These are on OFSC District 8 trails to places like Orillia, Midland, Wasaga and even up on to the Niagara Escarpment. Check out the Ride the Eight Loop!

Comfort Inn Barrie Ontario Services

After your day’s ride, simply load your sleds on the trailer. Then make the quick drive back to the cozy Comfort Inn to chill out and plan your next day’s ride. Staying at the Comfort Inn on Hart Drive has one other advantage. It also puts you close to all the services and attractions of Barrie, one of Ontario’s fastest growing cities.

So if fine dining and nightlife are your thing, they’re close by. Great amenities, primo snowmobiling and a handy Comfort Inn, all within an hour’s drive north of the GTA. What more does a snowmobiler need to enjoy #ontariosnowtrails?
